Terms & Conditions
TheScreen.biz (to be termed ?the website?) is to provide a showcase service for new and breakthrough talent and independent film coming out of the UK. This can be underground films, student films, festival films, and larger productions but all will hopefully be of a certain quality and all will be independent of a tv commission or big studio financing.
In addition TheScreen.biz will provide a database of independent production companies, including feature films, television, documentary, drama, pop promos, commercials companies. We will endeavour to provide full contact information plus programme history. We have researched this via the programmes that get on air so all the production companies listed are actively getting their material on screen and are not derived from any other listing.
In addition TheScreen.biz will provide a daily news update derived from other media news output ? a selection of stories will be selected aimed at what TheScreen.biz believes its readers will be interested in.
TheScreen.biz is a membership website partly because there is a lot of work involved in developing and maintaining a site of any quality. In addition we don?t want our content available to the internet at large. We also want to develop a close and intimate atmosphere where the right people are informing and inspiring those who are truly interested and interesting!

There are 2 types of membership available on ?the website?.
One applies to people viewing the content on the website and will be called ?viewing members?.
The other applies to people and organisations placing material and films and other content on the site and will be called ?content members?.
If a person or organisation places material on the site they become a content member of the site for free for a period of one year.
If a person becomes a member of the site to view content they become a ?viewing member? for a cost of £25 per year.
Upon becoming either a ?viewing member? or ?content member? the following terms and conditions apply;
Viewing Member
1) Upon payment of £25 a person has 31 days to cancel their membership should they not be happy with the content of the site. After 31 days no refund is possible.
2) This membership is an annual membership and we will remind you prior to its expiry date to renew it for the following year.
3) Any material on ?the website? is solely for research, reference and inspirational purposes and is not to be downloaded and reused for any other purpose without first asking for the permission of either the filmmaker or ?the website?.
4) ?The website? aims to satisfy the aims written at the beginning of these Terms and Conditions and on the front page of the website. It aims to do this in a fully operational fashion. It does not offer anything more than is ?on the tin? and can not be held liable for any accidental interruptions to the service nor any mistakes due to technical errors. It will aim to correct any errors as promptly as possible upon being advised in writing by the member.
5) ?The website? is not liable for any offence caused by any of the content within the site. The site operates within the realm ?freedom of speech? and is not censored. Nevertheless the site will endeavour to not show material of extreme or illegal content.
6) A ?viewing member? must be over 16 years of age, and is responsible for anyone younger viewing the site.
7) ?The website? aims to keep the News section up to date to within a week. ?The website? aims to keep the Database up to date to within a month. ?The website? aims to renew the films on the Screen section on a monthly basis. However, ?the website? is not liable for any damages should this not be adhered to due to unforeseen circumstances.
8) ?The website? will ensure that all information is as accurate as possible. However, ?the website? is not liable for any inaccuracies with either the News content, the Database content or the Screen section.
9) ?The website? reserves the right to terminate (or to suspend, restrict or attach conditions to) your membership and if you are in breach of these Terms and Conditions ?the website? may terminate the membership. In the event of termination for being in breach of their Terms and Conditions, no refunds will be payable.
10) We will respect the privacy of all your personal information. We will not pass on your information to any third parties without your prior consent. We will send you periodic newsletters, emails and updates. If you do not wish to receive such emails please inform the website at info@thescreen.biz.
11) ?The website? welcomes all feedback, suggestions and criticisms but can not in any way adhere to all such feedback.
12) ?The website? will endeavour to only work with reputable companies. Nevertheless, should ?the website? display or advertise promotions, services or products of other parties, ?the website? has no legal connection or liability to any follow up the member should take with these parties.
Content Members
1) ?The website? can contact a potential supplier of content or a supplier of content can approach ?the website? to showcase their material.
2) Upon ?the website? showing this material the supplier of the content becomes a ?content member?. This membership will last for a duration of 1 year from the date that content is provided.
3) The supplier of content can either be the filmmaker himself, an agent, distributor or promoter. The supplier of content must ensure they are authorised to supply content.
?The website? will endeavour to ensure that the supplier of content is authorised to do so and will supply written evidence to prove this. However, ?the website? is not liable should another party claim damages on the grounds that the supplier of content has no rights to do so.
4) Upon supplying the content the supplier of content or ?content member? agrees that the website can show the content, in the form provided, on the website for an indefinite length of time unless specific terms of length of content, or detail of content, or duration of showcase are pointed out in writing.
5) ?The website? is not liable for any damages incurred by the filmmaker, agent, distributor, or promoter following the showcasing of the content provided by the content provider or ?content member?.
6) Any of the terms specified by the content provider or ?content member? can be altered at any time and ?the website? will adhere to all these changes upon being informed by writing.
7) ?The website? will showcase content provided by the ?content member? and will include any information applicable to the content. Should the ?content member? wish any of this information to be withheld they must inform ?the website? in writing.
